GOVERNANCE DEVELOPMENT
Is there a desire to reflect on corporate governance? Should the interaction between owners, management, advisory boards, and incentive and compensation systems be further developed? Is there a need to clarify the cooperation between owners and management? Is it time to initiate, revitalize, or restructure an advisory board? Does the relationship between the holding company and its subsidiaries or between the subsidiaries themselves need improvement? Do the company's profit allocation, incentive, and remuneration systems need critical reflection? Or is feedback on an already developed governance solution desired?
A corporate governance fit for future
Has the existing corporate governance and ownership structure evolved over the years, and is it time to reflect on and further develop it? Does it no longer fit today's corporate reality because problems remain unresolved or do they recur?
Reflecting corporate governance and shaping it coherently with the current state of the company's organization, culture, financing, and business model.

As a company develops – whether through growth in size, cultural development, changes to its organizational or financing structure, or adjustments to its business model – it can be valuable to regularly take a critical look at its existing corporate governance.
For a tailor-made governance solution
We support in growing governance structures alongside the company's development, ensuring they are consistent with the company's current situation, organization, culture, and business model, and prepare them for the future.
Reflecting and further developing governance structures

Our clients about our Governance Development

“As managing partner since the company was founded, the sparring sessions enabled us to consciously address the owner level and further develop our cooperation with the management. The direct confrontation and clarity on the matter was crucial. Today, I see myself in a completely different position as an entrepreneur.”
Nils Langemann, Entrepreneur of PHAT (translated)

“The path towards an ownership and financing solution that enabled us to buy out old investors and to grow at the same time was long, bumpy, and emotional – often pushing us to the edge of giving up Stapelstein. We have been grateful to have Purpose at our side along the way.”
Hannah König,
Co-Owner of Stapelstein®

“For Andrews, our steward ownership has lasted 80 years, but it needed updating for today. We were very grateful to find Purpose.
Their clear thinking and focus on the future helped us explore how we could evolve our purpose as part of our governance review.”
Siân Edwards, Executive Director of Andrews Charitable Trust

Our models of Governance Development
Intensive Consulting:
We lead through the entire governance development process – from foundational questions of corporate control and management, the elaboration of stakeholder needs, to the development of a tailored governance solution and its cultural as well as communicative anchoring in the company. In each workshop or sparring session, we work through the topics step by step, provide preparatory questions and materials in advance, and share documentation afterwards.
Extensive Consulting:
We support self-driven governance development processes as sparring partners. In joint sessions, we structure process streams and themes, define task packages for next steps, and offer support with prioritization. We jointly reflect on the outcomes, and when needed, we deepen the process with targeted sparring sessions or workshops on specific governance topics.
For governance development processes to succeed, it is essential that all relevant decision-makers or those responsible for governance are involved to a minimum extent – as only they can decide on changes to the governance structure. In our experience, governance processes unfold most effectively when entrepreneurs continuously engage with the associated questions and themes.
